Being clear about who we are and how the programs work matters. Here's the plain-language version.
Independent service provider
Sequera Solutions is an independent service provider. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Oncor, AEP Texas, or any utility. We work within the utilities' published energy-efficiency programs as a service provider on behalf of property owners and management companies.
About the programs and incentives
Program availability, eligibility requirements, eligible measures, and incentive levels are established by each utility's energy-efficiency program - not by Sequera Solutions - and are subject to change. Utilities set program budgets and rules by program year, and funds can be exhausted before year-end. Whether a specific community qualifies, and what a program provides, is confirmed during our property review and eligibility process.
No-cost and utility-funded language
When we describe a thermostat upgrade or other measure as “no-cost” or “utility-funded,” we mean that, for qualifying communities in participating utility territories, the measure is paid for through the utility's energy-efficiency program rather than by the property. Eligibility is always confirmed before any work begins. Not every property or unit qualifies.
Accuracy of information
We work to keep the information on this site accurate. Energy-savings figures, incentive details, and program rules are verified against each utility's official current program and cited to their sources (such as ENERGY STAR and the U.S. Department of Energy) rather than estimated. We do not publish figures we cannot substantiate. Because programs change, incentive and program content is reviewed periodically and marked with a review date.
Licensed work
Where a project requires licensed HVAC or electrical work, that work is performed by qualified, licensed contractors. We are transparent about the scope of work performed directly versus by licensed partners on each project.
